Melon Salad - Detox Food
Ingredients:
3 types of melon:
Honey dew
Rock melon
Watermelon
Green grapes
Raisins
Fresh whipped cream (or plain yoghurt if you prefer)
Cinnamon
Cut melons into bite sized wedges. (1/4 honey dew, 1/4 rock and a generous slice of watermelon feeds 4 people a large helping each)
Place all melon ingredients into a serving bowl. Add grapes. Mix gently.
Serve with a dollop of cream or yoghurt
Drop raisins over the top
Sprinkle with cinnamon powder
This salad is light and refreshing. Great for both Brett Elliott’s Herbal Detox and also the Slim.
A little bit of HEALTHY, undamaged, saturated fat from the cream adds to a sense of fullness and it also helps to balance your blood sugars.
Contains plenty of fluid, fibre, enzymes and antioxidants too.
The cinnamon is a wonderful circulatory herb, blood sugar stabilizer and is proven to lower cholesterol.
This is amazingly easy to make for such a gourmet feel. You can be on the Detox program or losing weight with the Slim program, yet at the same have friends over for dessert.
