How effective are the laxatives?

I would like to do a detox but as a flight instructor I can be stuck in a small plane without a toilet for up to three hours. I know the detox will increase my bowl movements and I am wondering if this will result in a sudden need to go to the toilet right away or if I can control when I go to the toilet? I would hate to be caught out and I'm sure my student wouldn't like it either. Thanks.
