Berries are high in iron and good antioxidants especially polyphenols. They are extremely beneficial to the heart, blood vessels, brain, bladder, kidneys, and blood.

The blackberry-eating rats also showed significantly greater short-term memory performance. Researchers believe that the polyphenols in blackberries increase antioxidant levels enough to make them potentially beneficial to aging adults.
