A “Berry” nice smoothie!
Not only are berries great for the brain and eyes, bit with the addition of Cacao you get the additional benefit of even more antioxidants plus these surprising benefits. Cocoa powder and chocolate contain numerous substances among which there is a quite large percentage of antioxidant molecules, mainly flavonoids, most abundantly found in the form of epicatechin. - 200ml Plain Yogurt (or coconut cream)
- 1 Cup Fresh or frozen berries (blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries)
- 150ml dark Grape Juice, Noni juice or Pomegranate juice
- 1 heaped dessertspoon of raw Cacao powder
- 100ml Water or Milk to taste

Berries are high in iron and good antioxidants especially polyphenols. They are extremely beneficial to the heart, blood vessels, brain, bladder, kidneys, and blood.
Rats that ate a diet supplemented by 2 percent blackberries displayed better motor performance, balance, and coordination than a control group. The blackberry-eating rats also showed significantly greater short-term memory performance. Researchers believe that the polyphenols in blackberries increase antioxidant levels enough to make them potentially beneficial to aging adults.
